Destination - Padthaway, South Australia
Padthaway is about a thirty-minute drive south of Keith. It's close to the Coonawarra, Wrattonbully and Mount Benson wine regions. Perfectly unique terrain and unique wine.
Rows of vineyards line either side of the Riddoch Highway. Padthaway, like many South Australian wine regions, has a warm climate and good rainfall. Its terra rossa soil gives its grapes a special flavour due to limestone layers. This produces wine with great flavour and intensity.
CELLAR DOOR TASTING
There are cellar doors in the region, where you can taste the renowned Padthaway Shiraz and Chardonnay, including Farmer's Leap Wines Cellar Door. The Padthaway General Store Bottle Shop is fully stocked with the beautiful local “drop”.
While you’re here, explore Padthaway Conservation Park or play a round of golf at Padthaway Golf Course. Padthaway has a cluster of shops located in the heart of town, with a park, playground and skate park. To stay a while and enjoy the fresh air and spectacular wines, book some holiday accommodation on Search and Stay.
