Destination Tamworth, New South Wales

Tamworth is known as Australia’s home of country music and I challenge anyone to visit without the obligatory photo with Tamworth’s 12m-high Golden Guitar.

Renown for it’s Festival, the New South Wales city of Tamworth houses a plethora of country music fans who are very proud of what they bring to the music genre and also the line-up of C&W stars who have performed in this typical Aussie town.

The Australian Country Music Hall of Fame showcases the Industry and Tamworth’s part in it and features rotating displays of its extensive collection alongside the permanent Walk A Country Mile interactive exhibition. Here you’ll also find the Country Music Wax Museum and the National Guitar Museum.

The Tamworth Country Music Festival is a festival experience like no other! Unlike many others, the Festival is not gated so you don’t need to purchase a ticket to enjoy the music, performances and the “vibe”. From free shows every night in the park, to buskers, stalls, kids activities and street performers there is no end to the array of entertainment that Tamworth and the Festival offer up during the 10-day celebration. Choose from thousands of free and ticketed shows in the pubs, clubs and hotels around Tamworth which is in full Festival swing.
