The Islanders Tavern is perfectly located for tranquil outdoor dining overlooking the river on the west coast of Hindmarsh Island. Fresh produce, well constructed dishes and an interesting and changing menu. What’s not to love? A clear cut above average pub food, but the same prices. The fish and chips is served in large portions. The puttanesca was amazing. And the veggie and cheese goreme was huge and tasty. A lovely spot to sit with a playground to keep the kids happy and lots of grassy areas to play. Looking over the water towards Goolwa, Islanders Tavern is definitely a hidden gem.
